About Me

Hi, I'm Jessica, and I want to be your family's photographer!

Photography has always been a passion of mine. Growing up, my friends could always count on me to be the one who always had her camera. That transitioned into working on the high school yearbook staff, and now to capturing and preserving your family's memories.

In addition to photography, I enjoy video games, traveling, and FOOD. Cake is my favorite food (perhaps this is one reason I love weddings so much), but don't feed me lettuce; I can't stand it! I used to be an avid cosplayer (that means I handmade costumes of my favorite video game/anime/movie characters and wore them to conventions), but now I mostly just enjoy looking at other people's handiwork.

I also adore blogging, so be sure to subscribe to keep up with my ramblings and current photos. And, if I look familiar, it's because I was (am) Ms. Fondue over at Weddingbee.

I'm based in Nashville, Tennessee, but I do love to travel, so don't hesitate to contact me if you live elsewhere. You can find me on Twitter and Facebook, or just email me!

Gatlinburg

Don’t forget: You can still enter to win free wedding photography! All entries are due September 1!

So you all may have been wondering what I’ve been up to lately! August was a busy month for me, personally, so I look forward to sharing some photos from the past few weeks. Last weekend, my friend Laura and I drove out to Gatlinburg to relax and destress. :)

Smoky Mountains

I’m always enthralled watching taffy being made.

While we were there, we drove out to Cade’s Cove. It was so pretty! Click this panorama to see a larger version.

I captured this one using the Hipstamatic app on my iPhone.

It was neat seeing the old buildings and churches.

We also hiked the 2.5 miles down to Abrams Falls.

All in all, it was a very relaxing trip! My next getaway is to New York City in December; I’m super excited about that!

Vegas, baby!

I’ll be out of town from March 4-9. I will return any emails when I get back because I’ll be in VEGAS! I’m too excited. This is my first trip to Vegas, and we have so many fun things planned. These include two Cirque du Soleil shows, some trash the dress sessions, the WPPI trade show, and awesome parties. And I may fit some gambling in there too. ;)

I’m sure I will have loads of photos when I get back, so sit tight!

Happy birthday to me!

I was away last week spending my birthday in beautiful Florida. It was 80 and sunny the entire week, so it was rather depressing to come home to 50 and dreary. I think I need a winter home in the tropics.

Disney has something special going on every year, and in 2009, you can get in free on your birthday. So we spent two days there, although I wish it had been longer (I love Disney a little too much). We did get to ride Tower of Terror five times and Space Mountain twice. Yay for off-season!

And we spent four days at Universal. I hadn’t been in nearly 20 years, so it was kind of neat seeing what all had changed. As I mentioned, it was off-season, being the middle of November and a weekday. So it was nice that the parks were all fairly empty. Some rides had whole cars with no one in them and most of them were walk-on.

The resort swimming pool had a “No Animals Allowed” rule. So I found it awfully funny that three ducks apparently called the pool home.

Our resort was the Royal Pacific, which is themed after a Pacific island getaway. We both kept joking that we were stuck on the island from “Lost”.

Eventually, however, it was time to head home. The clouds from the plane window kept me from being too sad, though.

Until next time, Orlando.

Chicago!

My friends and I took a quick weekend trip to Chicago to see Nine Inch Nails’s good-bye tour. We did quite a lot of sightseeing in the process.
