What a weekend! All this rain has been crazy. For those of you experiencing flooding, my heart goes out to you. Hope everyone is in a safe, dry place by now.
MTAC, our local anime convention, was held this weekend at the Sheraton Music City. I only hung around for about half of it because I wanted to make sure I didn’t get stuck there; even when I did leave, McGavock was already flooding at the intersection of Elm Hill. So I missed the cosplay contest and all of Sunday’s programming that I wanted to see, but I thought it better to stay inside and safe.
I had a few cosplay shoots scheduled over the weekend, but several got rained out. However, I did manage to fit in two sessions with Kaleena and Katelynn.
On Friday, they were dressed as Anemone and Dominic from Eureka Seven. Aren’t their costumes awesome?

Then on Saturday, we did a really quick shoot inside the hotel, since there was a monsoon outside. They were dressed as Hiyori and Shinji from Bleach.

It was great meeting you all, and I hope you were able to make it home after the con!

MTAC is right around the corner! Nashville’s own anime convention gets started on April 30 this year. Are your costumes ready?
I’m a cosplayer myself, so I know it’s tough to get decent shots of all your hard work. That’s why I’m scheduling mini-sessions to take place at MTAC. These mini-sessions are only $25 and that gets you all the low-res files, so you can share them on Facebook or add to your cosplay.com profile. If you don’t want to book yet because the con schedule isn’t up, that’s okay. I’m flexible and we can set up an exact day and time when it’s posted a few days before the con starts. Contact me for more details.

Ah, Halloween. There’s a tie between it and Christmas as to which is my favorite holiday. I used to be an avid cosplayer, but with so little time on my hands, I tend to only get to make one costume a year these days. And they get debuted on Halloween.
This year I decided to get ahead of the curve. With Tim Burton’s new “Alice” movie coming out next year, I figured next Halloween would be filled with costumes from Wonderland. So I went ahead and made an Alice costume this year.

I usually have props to go with my costumes, and this year’s was no exception.

Halloween is not complete without lots of tricks…

…and treats!

What were you for Halloween this year?

The Nashville Zombie Walk is held twice a year. This is the first time I’ve been able to make it. Although I didn’t dress up, it was great to see everyone’s creativity shine through in all the different zombies that roamed downtown.
